ROD MCBRIDE - MANAGING DIRECTOR
Rod McBride is the Managing Director of Stephen Grubits & Associates Sdn Bhd (SGA Sdn Bhd) Malaysia. SGA Sdn Bhd commenced undertaking high-profile projects in Malaysia in 1996. Rod has permanently resident status in Malaysia .
In addition to developing and undertaking Fire Engineering work in Malaysia, Rod has endeavored to expand SGA’s network into other Asia countries such as China, Philippines and Singapore. Developing the disciples of Fire Engineering and Risk Assessment into Malaysia and other Asia countries has presented some enormous challenges. Dealing with local understanding and perceptions on fire safety took sustained perseverance particularly with Fire Authorities, Developers and local consultants.
ALVIN LOO SI XIAN - SENIOR FIRE/RISK CONSULTANT
Alvin Loo is an experienced fire/risk consultant with over a decade of expertise in crafting optimized fire strategies, providing code compliance consultancy, conducting fire risk assessments, coordinating fire performance-based approach studies, and employing advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and occupant egress modelling techniques to address challenging fire safety issues.
In code compliance consultancy and fire risk assessments, he has reviewed the designs of proposed new projects and existing as-built buildings for major Malaysian developers such as MRCB, IJM, IOI Properties, UEM Sunrise, SP Setia, TA Global, and others.
Alvin holds an engineering master's degree in Industrial Risk Management from INSA Rouen Normandie, France, and a master's of science degree in Fire Safety Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is a registered ‘Fire Safety Engineer’ (FSEr) with BOMBA since 2021.
